Bayer Leverkusen has etched its name in football history by becoming the first Bundesliga team to complete a league season unbeaten. The club, also known as "Die Werkself," secured the record-breaking feat with a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt on the final matchday of the 2022-23 season.
Bayer Leverkusen's remarkable achievement puts them on par with some of the most dominant teams in European football history, including AC Milan in 1991-92, Preston North End in 1888-89, and Celtic in 2016-17. The club's unbeaten run in the Bundesliga spanned 34 matches, consisting of 24 wins and 10 draws.
This historic achievement adds to Bayer Leverkusen's growing reputation as one of Germany's most formidable football clubs. The club has now won the Bundesliga 13 times, making them the third most successful team in German league history behind Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
